St. Joseph'due south Higher is a private, Jesuit, higher educational institution run by the Karnataka Province of the Gild of Jesus in Bangalore, Karnataka, Republic of india. In 1967 the College was granted permanent amalgamation to Bangalore University. 1972 saw the commerce sections and evening higher separated from the primary higher. St Joseph's Evening College, Bangalore was established in 1972 as a Jesuit higher to empower the underprivileged sectors of Indian gild [8] In 2005, information technology was given democratic status by the UGC, to devise its own curriculum.[9]

The Evening College is a minority establishment and accepts students of all religious denominations without discrimination. It is affiliated to Bengaluru Urban center University and offers 3-twelvemonth BCom, BA, BCA, and BBM degrees and two-year postgraduate degrees in Commerce (MCom), and English.[10] [11]

In 2007 Joseph'south won the top prize at Agno-Fest competition among 13 colleges, in commerce, science, and arts competitions.[12] In 2014 a post-graduate course in commerce (MCom) introduced.[thirteen]

The college also organizes seminars for the public; a seminar on climate change in 2011 attracted more than 400 persons.[14] Furthermore, information technology fields sports teams, including a successful boys' hockey squad.[xv]

St. Joseph's College was divided in 1972, and commerce department of the college was spun off to Brigade Road while the Arts and Science section remained at Residency Route. The commerce college later split into St Joseph'south College of Business concern Administration (SJCBA).

META- The Josephite Festival of Literature [edit]

The annual Literature festival organised by the Department of English of St. Joseph`southward College, Bangalore is open to all college students and the general public. Consisting of a plethora of contests, events, talks, panels and performances, META has been a platform to showcase new talents in the college and the city. Information technology began in 2014 and has already seen v editions.[16] [17] [18]
